\ncollaborators consists of a wide range of individuals and institutions
\ninvolved in the creative, theoretical and technological aspects of
\nelectronic arts.<\/span><\/p>\n
\nArt was initiated in 1988 in order to support the founding and maintenance
\nof an international network of organizations and individuals active
\nin the field of the electronic arts.
\nThis network has taken the shape of an association, founded in 1990
\nin The Netherlands, called the Inter-Society for the Electronic Arts
\n(ISEA). <\/p>\n
\ntogether individuals and organizations from around the world. From
\nthe founding of ISEA until 1996, the organization was based in the
\nNetherlands. From 1996 to 2001, ISEA moved the headquarters to Montr\u00e9al,
\nQuebec, Canada. Since 2001 it is once again headquartered in The Netherlands.<\/p>\n
\nthe organization of the symposia in each selected city. It assures
\nthe continuity of symposia identity and quality, and works closely
\nwith the Host Organization.The symposia have been held as both a
\nbiennial
\nand annual event. In 1998, the symposium returned to the biennial
\nformat for ten years. It is now held annually. In 2009 ISEA was changed
\nfrom an association to a foundation in order to better serve its
\nmission. It is currently seeking to establish a headquarters at the
\nUniversity of Brighton in the U.K.”[2]
