The films of James Whitney are a precious legacy. Because they are influenced by so many mystical and scientific ideas, they can be excellent aids for explaining or discussing those subjects. Since they are abstract, they provide alternate ways of seeing – and they also stimulate discussions about personal reactions, fantasies, and interpretation.
